7-Day Minimum Rental for the Cape Town Cycle Tour

During the Cape Town Cycle Tour period, all bikes have a minimum rental charge of 7 days.

You are welcome to rent the bike for a shorter period, but the 7-day rental fee will still apply.

We strongly recommend receiving your bike several days before the race and taking it for at least one proper ride. This gives you time to:

  • Get familiar with the bike and handling
  • Check your riding position and saddle height
  • Test the gears and brakes
  • Make any small adjustments before race day
  • Identify any unexpected problem early, giving us time to help you before the race

For an important event like the Cape Town Cycle Tour, we don't recommend collecting an unfamiliar rental bike the day before the race and riding it for the first time on race morning.

Bike Setup and Sizing

When booking, please provide your height and inseam measurement so we can help select the correct frame size.

If possible, also send us your current saddle height and bike-fit measurements. We can use these measurements to prepare your rental bike before delivery.

You're welcome to bring your own pedals and saddle. We can fit them to your rental bike.

Delivery and Collection in Cape Town

We deliver your bike directly to your hotel, guest house, Airbnb or other accommodation in Cape Town and surrounding areas.

Your bike arrives fully assembled, checked, adjusted to your measurements and ready to ride. At delivery, we can make any final small adjustments if required.

After the Cape Town Cycle Tour, we aim to collect as many bikes as possible directly after the race from a convenient pre-arranged location. Where this is not possible, we will arrange collection from your accommodation or another agreed location.

This means you can travel to South Africa without the hassle and expense of bringing your own bike and bike box.

Payment is required within 48 hours of a provisional booking. Bikes are only reserved once payment has been received and the booking is confirmed.

During the Cape Town Cycle Tour period, a minimum 7-day rental charge applies.

Cape Town Cycle Tour bookings are non-refundable, as explained in the cancellation policy above.

Please note that we do not accept cash payments.

Cancellation

Due to the extremely high demand for rental bikes during the Cape Town Cycle Tour, all confirmed Cycle Tour bookings are non-refundable.

Once your booking is confirmed, your selected bike and frame size are reserved exclusively for you and are no longer available to other customers. For this reason, we cannot offer refunds if you cancel your booking or decide not to use the bike.

If the Cape Town Cycle Tour itself is cancelled, we will refund 75% of the total rental amount paid.

Please make sure you are happy with your selected bike, frame size and travel plans before confirming your booking.

Payment can be made securely online through PayFast, using a credit or debit card, or by bank transfer (EFT). For larger bookings or group rentals involving multiple bikes, we prefer payment by bank transfer where possible. Simply select Bank Transfer during checkout and our banking details will be provided automatically. Your bike is reserved once full payment has been received and your booking is confirmed. Please note that we do not accept cash payments.
We will ask you to sign a rental agreement when receiving the bike. The renter is responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the bicycle during the rental period. Please read the rental conditions carefully before accepting the bike.
If you heading to South Africa for the race and intend to stay in the Mother City for the duration of your stay, then yes, you should take your own bike with you. But if you intend to combine the Cycle Tour with a safari, a trip to the Winelands, or a self-drive adventure up the Garden Route, it makes sense to rent a bike. It will cost you roughly the same amount to transport your bike to Cape Town as it will cost to rent a bike in the city.

Yes, absolutely. You are welcome to bring your own pedals, saddle and helmet if you prefer to use the equipment you are familiar with. We can fit your own pedals and saddle to the rental bike before delivery. Please let us know in advance what you will be bringing. If you don't bring your own equipment, pedals and a helmet are included with your rental at no additional cost. We have Shimano SPD-SL, Shimano SPD (MTB), LOOK Kéo and flat pedals available.
