Cape Town Cycle tour bike camp
March 1st - 9th
7 Nights hotel Krige, Stellenbosch
Located in the centre of upmarket Stellenbosch, this brand-new 4 star hotel boasts 24 apartment-style rooms individually decorated with top quality furnishings. Each suite boasts an en-suite bathroom, a kitchenette, a workspace, Wi-Fi, DSTV and twin or king-size beds.
The hotel is located inside of Stellenbosch’s historic quarter, within walking distance to the town’s many restaurants and coffee shops.
Guided rides:
Stellenbosch is a mountain bike paradise! We have picked 6 world class routes. Distance varies between 40 - 55 km, depending on climbing meters. These rides are tours (!), NOT races! Some routes will be more technical then other routes, but we will adjust the routes to your skill (and fitness) level. Expect beautiful routes through forests and vineyards, riding on mountain slopes, rocky terrain, gravel roads and most important lots and lots of single tracks.
Rental bikes
Your dual suspension mountain bike rental includes a helmet, pedals (flats or Mtb ), tubeless tyres, small pump, tools and a Garmin mount for your bike computer
Bike set up
Please send us your fit specifications prior to your arrival and we'll have your bikeready for you. We will do a basic set up, not a bike fit ;-).
The camp includes:
All transfers, a safari game drive + wine tasting and a 1 hour massage
Week schedule
Cycling holidays and training camps

Villiera Game Drives
Together with two neighbours Villiera set aside 230 Ha of land to form a Wildlife Sanctuary for game. These conservation efforts take place alongside a determined indigenous tree-planting project. Over 100,000 indigenous trees have been planted to green fallow land and to mitigate our carbon footprint.
The Sanctuary includes 12 dams plus marsh areas which attract a huge variety of bird-life. Indigenous trees are grown in old milk containers, plastic water bottles etc. by our staff and then bought from them when a year old and planted out. Thousands of indigenous trees have also been donated by the Cape Garden Centre.
A number of mammals have been introduced in the Wildlife Sanctuary:
Springbuck, Kudu, Giraffe, Bontebok, Eland, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Bush Pig, Burchell’s Zebra, common Duiker, Steenbuck, Waterbuck and Grysbok.

Wine tasting
Included in the camp is a 1 hour wine tasting at The Wine Sanctuary. Outside there is a terrace area under the shade of some very old oak trees where you can enjoy an outdoor wine tasting (weather permitting).
The Villiera vineyards are run by Cobus Van Schalkwyk, assisted by vineyard managers Christie Franse and Wayne Daniels (with Simon Grier in consultation). The vineyards are approximately 170 hectares in extent and yields are a conservative 8 tons per hectare to ensure fruit quality.
The varieties planted in the vineyards are 50% red and 50% white. The wines produced are 40% Cap Classique, 30% red and 30% white.
